	*Note: Slupca Genealogy was originally intended to be an index of records from Slupca county (Polish: powiat słupecki). It has been expanded to include records from the other areas of Poland my ancestors lived in. Slupca County, Wielkopolskie Province, Poland, is 70 kilometers east of Poznan. At different times it has been a part of both Prussia and Russia. As boundaries and borders change, or are renamed, parts of it has been in Poznan Province, Kingdom of Poland, Eastern Greater Poland, Kalisz District, Konin District, and is currently in Wielkopolskie Province. Slupca is the name of a town, parish, and county. The Family History Library classifies locations by using Polish province and county boundaries from an earlier map and has Slupca County listed as part of Poznan Province (Poland, Poznan, Slupca) instead of the more recent Wielkopolskie Province, which was created from parts of Poznan Province in 1999. The digitized FHL Films are the records that are indexed on this website and that is the classification system that has been used here. There are usually multiple versions of the same record, which is very handy if one record is difficult to read. It is common to find Civil Registration records written in multiple books, so there will often be more than one civil record for the same event. Typically, the Civil Registration books switch from being written in Polish to being written in Russian (Cyrillic script) in 1868. This Index should be used as an index and not a primary source. Anyone who thinks they found their family is strongly encouraged to go to the original source and look at the record. It is certain that some of these names are misspelled, and some of the data may be wrong, so please check the original source.
